Ian’s trip to Peoria

We were thrilled to have Ian Green with us at Riverside Community Church on Sunday, April 15, 2018. The current sermon series is titled “The Cause”. Today is our Missions Day. We know Ian Green as a man of Faith and a man who imparts Grace. By the time the sermon is over, “Grace will be imparted by Faith and you will believe you can do what God has called you to do.” Two years ago, Ian was at Riverside. Because of the generosity of the people of Riverside we inspired a community to give to other communities. In order to move forward, you have to give of what you have. By meeting the needs of people, they become open to the Gospel. It is the Goodness of God that Leads People to Repentance. Philippians 4:14-19 Paul encourages us to be generous to others. There is a contract the Scripture for V. 19 – “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” In order for God to supply all of our needs according to His riches in Glory, WE must be investing in His Kingdom.

Money is a reflection of your life. You are there, in Romania, bringing the Gospel, because you gave. When you give unto God, you create an account with compounded interest. I Timothy 6: 18 encourages you, “To do good and to be rich in good works, generous and ready to share, thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life.” Tithing goes to the local church, increase to missions. A faith pledge is not what you can afford and put in your budget, it is stepping out in faith to give more than that. Trusting God to increase to you that you can give the amount that, you, by faith, pledged to God. Jesus said it is more blessed to give than to receive. The two sides of the Contract, GIVE and GOD will supply all of your needs. I Corinthians 9:6-8, “The point is this, whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.” We were encouraged by Ian’s words. Faith abounds and we step out to give, by faith, to sow into missions. We do this, knowing God loves a cheerful giver and knowing also by stepping out in faith, we are investing with compounded interest in our Heavenly Account.
