It is hard to believe that in an EU country mothers are still making the torturous decision of whether to give their babies a bottle of milk to go to bed with, or a diaper – they cannot afford both! When this situation first came to my attention a few years back, my sense of justice, as well as being a parent myself, meant that I could not allow this injustice to continue. It was then, through the Proton Foundation that the ‘diaper a day’ project was birthed. We have worked in the village of Lazareni, near Oradea, Romania to eradicate this indignity, bringing hope and showing God’s love in a practical way. Transformation comes to a community where we not only solve a problem but seek to bring permanent change. With increased pressure on the local Mayor water that has been absent from the village will soon be available. This will enable the mothers to use reusable diapers instead of disposable. This will for sure transform their lives for the better.
Please watch this video and be inspired at what can be achieved when we say no to injustice and bring hope and transformation to communities.
