Education in any society is the key for the future success of a generation. In Romania the Roma children have been stigmatised when it comes to education. Under the EU they are educated alongside the Romanian children. This has been unsuccessful, leading to many of the children dropping out of school at the ages of 8 or 9.
The results of this are that the boys will go into crime to survive and many of the girls will be trafficked. The Proton Foundation are a solution orientated organisation. Thus working alongside the Caleb Foundation we have been able to set up after school’s projects to help the Roma children with their studies. This has helped them to remain in school and the results have been absolutely staggering.
