Pais is an incredible ministry, it offers a dynamic Apprenticeship for those who want to grow in faith, develop leadership skills, and serve in churches and schools across the globe.

I have known its leader, Paul Clayton Gibbs, since its inception in 1992, he’s actually a guest on our upcoming Solutionaries podcast series - look out for that episode! Unlike some other ministries, Pais apprentices are trained in a church context and stay with families. It’s both a brilliant and Biblical program.

There are three levels of apprenticeship depending on experience and future goals:

  • A1 – Personal Development (1 academic year) Focused on spiritual formation and Kingdom-centric living. Includes Bible study, discipleship, evangelism, and team/community engagement.

  • A2 – Leadership Development (2 academic years - includes A1) Adds leadership skills like strategic thinking, project planning, and personnel management. Ideal for those ready for more responsibility.

  • A3 – Ministry Development (3 academic years - includes A1 + A2) Prepares individuals for long-term ministry roles. Includes theology of the church, church culture/structure, and coaching toward potential salaried ministry placement.*

The unique part?

Thanks to their sponsorship, training and accommodation are provided free of charge for all successful applicants!

Each nation is slightly different, but essentially there are two intakes a year, August and January. Do you know someone who’d be interested - all the information you need apply is here:
