Proton UK partner wins funding award to deliver TPI's PX2 training to young people at risk of exclusion in the Midlands. Funding has been awarded to a small Midland's based community organisation to deliver PX2 training via the Proton Foundation to local young people deemed at risk.
The funding award approved in February will see one local community organisation deliver the TPI programme Path to Extreme Success 2 in partnership with a local school. The grant will provide sufficient funding to train a community based PX2 facilitator and deliver a pilot course during the summer of 2011 to ten young people identified by the school as currently at risk of exlcusion or in need of greater support. The course will help young people:
It is hoped that following the pilot course, the programme can be repeated and also offered to other local schools, youth and community groups. With youth unemployment hitting an incredible high of 20.5% following a 66,000 increase to 965,000, the highest figures since records began in 1992, the Proton Foundation continues to explore ways of providing support to young people in the UK at risk of exclusion or currently not in education, employment or training. For the teen making the transition from adolescent to adult, it can be a confusing and frightening time. PX2 is an excellent world class programme that seeks to help young people understand how their mind works, provide tools to develop self-confidence, self-esteem and a strong ethical centre. PX2 is a life-changing experience - not just for the young people but for the entire family, promoting positive communication and building stronger relationships. The Proton Foundation is an official training provider for TPI programmes and is wishing to identify and partner wtih other organisations working with schools, young people or exploring ways to expand their current youth service provision. PX2 can be delivered in a variety ways and contexts or as an extended school programme. Find out more about PX2, the 12 learning units and read case studies.
