NLI team grows and expands |
|
This past year has been a year of transition for NLI but in the midst of it we continue to see the NLI team grow and expand, here are just a few of the stories.
As NLI's Internship Director she will have the opportunity to open the door to Europe to a whole generation of missionaries. She sees a mix of practical work, mentoring and cross cultural experience as the way to integrate interns into the NLI family. Sara background is a unique mix of ministry and training that we see as the perfect value add into the internship program. She spent a year at the L.A.Dream Center, three years serving in Master's Commision and two years studying at Bible College. By having Sara provide focus to the internship here at NLI we know the window into Europe is open to many more.
Not often does NLI get a 'two for one deal' but with Paul and Mary they both felt God calling them to serve in different areas of the team. Paul has joined the Balkans Team to provide oversight, strategic planning and care for the initiatives NLI and our partners will carry out in the region over the next 5 years. As a young grandmother, Mary felt the immediate connection with the Kids Leadership Development team and has come on board to provide assistance in planning and finance. We believe that the Trillers are paving the way forward for a whole generation to see Europe as their mission field and to step outside of the boat to make it happen!
Aaron will be taking a lead role in Slovakia where he will dream and grow new opportunities to stretch the church in that nation into unreached towns and cities. He will be continue to expose even more people and churches to the need there and help them to see how they too can be involved in meeting those needs. Stephanie will continue to be a part of the growing Women's Development team as they seek to train and lead women all over Europe into the leadership destiny that God has for them.
As you can see at NLI there is a place of each of us. We consider ourselves a team located all over the world. Our desire in 2010 is to see another 12-15 families join the greater NLI family as we seek to fill key leadership and serving roles over the next six months. We are not just looking for anyone but rather individuals and couples that have heard the call of God to reach out to Europe. People who have an undeniable passion for creating opportunities for the church to equip, transform and expand! Now is the time to begin moving toward that God purposed destiny that He instils in each of us. Please feel free to contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. At the beginning of May, Sara Mendez from Albuquerque, New Mexico joined the team. Sara has a passion for young adults just starting out on their ministry journeys and understands discipleship as key to giving them that start.
In mid-July a young couple from Orlando, Florida moved across the pond to set up house in Bedworth and serve in the International Office. Paul and Mary Triller have known NLI and Ian Green for over 14 years and constantly 'toyed' with the idea of moving to Europe. As all of their children left home and started families of their own, they felt the Lord stirring them up once again. The final confirmation for them came when they visited Eurosummit 2007 in Krakow, Poland. There they heard not only Ian's heart but also the rest of the NLI family. They had the opportunity to visit with the men and women we partner with and feel the need in Europe firsthand.
Missions isn't limited to the single or the childless couples. Aaron and Stephanie Sikorski along with their 5 children recently joined NLI and are currently raising the necessary resources to take on a significant role within the team. As pastors for the last 12 years in Indiana, the Sikorskis have had the opportunity to take a 'peek' into Europe and see the need in Central Europe. As trainers at several of NLI hosted conferences and leading trips to expose others to Europe, this couple could not shake the growing desire in their hearts to see this continent reached with the Gospel message.
