Metamorphis: The Deeper Conference hosted over 350 University students and young professionals in November, 2008.

Newsflash

The students heard the challenge to be like Jesus, to embody His truth and be a tangible expression of His passions. A discontented generation hungers to be an agent of change to the societal challenges and spiritual deficiency that is prevalent in Romania.

In a society that has been fixated on their lack due to economic poverty and oppression, Ian Green brought a tremendous message of how we define poverty and our responsibility as followers of Christ to dispel poverty. The understanding gained of the various types of poverty that exist was provoking and many responded to the challenge by vocalizing a desire to activate their faith. Setting a clear vision, assessing necessary steps to activate a plan and establishing a foundation in personal character and professional development were components of the weekend events.

Tools were given in order for the young people to create the foundation to walk out the passions and call God has embedded in their hearts. The “how” of activation was realized through workshops and group discussions. How do I embody the Word and be transformed by it? How do I recognize if my identity is in Him? How do I evaluate if I have addictions that hinder fullness of life in Him? How do I make the sacrifices and changes necessary to build a healthy marriage? How do I create a business for Kingdom purposes? How do I recognize my influence in my profession and bring change to the field? How do I recognize those in need around me? How do I tangibly help to eliminate injustice in Romania? How can I help women to not fall into the trap of prostitution?

The conference highlighted the need for intrinsic spiritual transformation that would emerge as a passionate stance towards community transformation. The students left the conference with a renewed passion and love for Jesus, a clearer vision of their call and purpose and the tools to create the foundation of the community endeavors necessary to welcome change. The message is embodied, influence is established, fruit will be seen.

Richard Green has a wealth of wisdom and experience that has shaped and molded the work he has embarked on with the CCC in Australia. One of the things they are doing that stood out was their extremely intentional and holistic approach to identifying and releasing church planters. They have developed systems and training that involves a high degree of intentionality and is personally driven with each of the church planting couples, dealing with all aspects of their lives, physical, emotional, financial, spiritual and intellectual. This in turn gives them great quality and depth of individuals that are being sent out to establish communities of faith.

“A personal highlight for me was to highlight a national role model for the young people. Dumi, one of our dear Romanian woman of God has answered the call to serve Jesus in Afghanistan. We heard her story of how God called and equipped her for the task. We prayed for her and sowed over 1300.00 EURO into the harvest in Afghanistan. Truly Romania is becoming a sending nation…may we continue to see the harvest expand as we plant the seeds of Jesus’ heart into the nations. Your harvest is expanding!!”
