March 2009 - Brisbane, Australia

Leadership – What does it mean? What does it take? What are the keys to being effective as a leader? These were just a few of the many questions that were answered when Ian Green from Next Level International spoke to us on Saturday night.

Ian spoke with authority and experience as part of his credentials as he heads up a ‘force to be reckoned with’. His vision through the work of Next Level International is that it exists to empower a new generation of leaders to equip, transform and expand the Church throughout Europe. Through his leadership there have been birthed a new generation of 5,000 leaders in and throughout the eastern European countries and beyond., Part of his goal has also been to establish short-term missions teams which have seen between 500 - 800 people into the UK and Eastern Europe each year since 1999.

Ian spoke with passion and forthrightness bringing clarity and challenge as he outlined vital keys to successful leadership. He emphasised the necessity for leaders to be learners, accountability in leadership, the need for challenging your internal being and moving out of your comfort zone. The practical truth of ensuring that there is authenticity in our relationships and the need for self –leadership to be initiated. This is but a taste of the richness of his knowledge and experience that reflects the heartbeat of the man, Ian Green. It was a privilege to hear and to be stirred to a new sense of our vision being raised to be all that God is calling us to be.

In March, 2009 I was invited by my local church pastor to attend a small, informal breakfast meeting with Ian Green. Given that my areas of passion and interest don’t normally extend to business and entrepreneurship, I wasn’t entirely sure how his message would relate to where I am currently in life and where I feel God is calling me to be in the future. However, Ian’s message was concise and clearly demonstrated that the Biblical principles of wealth, prosperity and success don’t have to be, and shouldn’t be, divorced from missions.

Ian spoke in a manner that was engaging and accessible and I left the meeting feeling both challenged and empowered to go about Kingdom business in a way that is fruitful – both naturally and supernaturally. The message I heard at that meeting has radically shifted my perception of the way that missions and finances marry together and, I feel, greatly enhanced my ability to be used by God in those areas. Ibelieve that Ian Green has an incredible anointing on his life for influence and for furthering the cause of Christ throughout the world by using his practical talents and Biblically-based wisdom. The meeting I went to with Ian blessed me greatly and inspired me to think about how I spend my money and how I could be better using the practical resources God has given me to make an everlasting change throughout the nations.

I was excited when I heard that  Ian Green was visiting Northside Christian Church.  I had never directly heard a message from Ian, however I had already been inspired by his ministry, having heard several stories about Next Level International and its ministry to unreached people groups in Eastern Europe.

Ian visited our church on the 3rd March, 2009, speaking both at our morning and evening church services.   I thoroughly appreciated Ian’s messages, because they brought a level of discomfort into my spirit.  I gladly welcome this discomfort, because I know that the Holy Spirit is revealing and changing the thoughts and attitudes of my own heart.   Ian brought a challenging message on ‘the premise to the promise’ of Phillipians 4:14-19; that God promises to meet the needs of those who are generous to others.  This reminded me to consider what priority I place on investing into the worldwide extension of God’s Kingdom, and on a practical level, has challenged me to increase my giving to Global Outreach.

Ian’s messages gave a clear, direct and strong challenge, however at the same time were delivered with gentleness and humour.  I believe that Ian’s messages held greater validity and influence, because they were spoken from the heart of someone who daily lives by faith.  Ian’s ministry was a big blessing to my husband and I personally, and I believe also greatly supported the vision of Northside Christian Church.
