About NLI

Next Level International is a registered charity in the United Kingdom, Canada, United States and New Zealand. We are a missions organization that connects local churches around the world with different projects in Europe. We are official partners with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada and have working relationships with the Assemblies of God in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. Our partners are churches from all over the globe.

Our mission at NLI is simply this, to "Empower a whole new generation of radical leaders to equip, transform and expand the Church in Europe."

NLI was founded in 1992 by Ian Green, here is his story:

It was early in 1990 when the wall came down in Eastern Europe. A couple of months previously I had been intrigued by the communist world and the dark shadows of mystery that hung over it. I was mystified by the hidden yet vibrant church that had functioned so powerfully underground for decades.

With a friend I decided to travel to Eastern Europe to discover for myself what effect this new found freedom would have on the church. Driving across Europe through Poland, Czechoslovakia and into Hungary, I encountered 10 days of frontline exposure. I met people with a deep passion for Jesus and a huge commitment to see this cause rapidly go forward in their towns, cities and nations. I was left with an aching sense in my heart that Jesus wanted do something to help these people.

An immediate response came back, “why don’t you do something?” At that time I held national responsibilities for a youth organisation that was exploding in growth. We had a number of full and part time staff, and increasing influence. I felt like I had enough on my plate. Again a response came from Jesus, “do something to help these people.”

I had many conversations with my new wife Judith about whether we could relinquish our personal security and growing profile for what seemed to be a huge task. After six months of prayer and discussion we felt that we could do nothing but relinquish all of our current responsibilities, hand back our salary, car, personal assistant, and begin an adventure that still continues today.

Since the beginning of NLI, the Leadership Training Department has raised up a new generation of 5,000 leaders in Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Romania, Serbia, and Bulgaria. In 1998 and 1999, we expanded this training into Moldova, Belarus, and other regions of Europe.

The first Church Planting projects commenced in 1996 in Budapest, Hungary where 16 new congregations are meeting. Other Church Planting projects have commenced since then in the Czech Republic, Northern Poland, Southern Poland and Central Poland, Ukraine, Slovakia, Romania & Crimea. There is a strategic plan to have church planting movements erupt in Europe over the next decade.

Our Short-Term Missions team have mobilised between 500 - 800 people into the UK and Europe each year since 1999. We are looking for this to grow and see a new generation of missionaries rise as a result.
